OUR FOUNDER
Dag Heward-Mills an apostle and a prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ in Ghana. He is also the founder and general overseer of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC, formerly Lighthouse Chapel International). A qualified medical doctor, Dag gave himself wholly to the work of God in 1991 and has never looked back. Dag Heward-Mills has a multifarious ministry that has transformed and continues to impact millions of lives across the globe.
OUR CHARTER
The Organisation
The Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference is a powerful body made up of Bishops of several different charismatic denominations in Ghana. Today, its membership is made up of over 100 bishops located in every region of Ghana.
A Bishop is a most senior and revered person among the clergy and is an overseer of several churches. Consequently, 4000 churches yield to the authority of this powerful conference. The Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference has a widespread influence in Ghana and holds sway over no less than 1 million Ghanaian Christians
We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, and one God has three appearances as in The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit to Humankind.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.

The Ghana Charismatic Bishops Conference is a body of eminent clergy representing congregations across all the regions of Ghana and in the diaspora.
No, the Lighthouse Chapel is just one of the denominations. We have over 20 denominations, spread across the length and breadth of Ghana being members the Conference.
Also this not exactly a Conference of Churches, but first of Bishops, eminent clergy who lead and influence millions of Christians and charismatic denominations across Ghana.
It has an extensive criterion that is run by the sitting Bishops. The details are of an ecumenical nature, and not available for the public’s scrutiny.
However, as you can see from the membership, these clergy have verifiable flock across the country, and their influence on the socio-economic life of the country is immense

Yes, very much so. The Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference is arguably representative of most the Charismatic denominations in country. The spread of their denominations and their churches provides the Conference a very great reach and influence across the country
Charismatic churches are not one homogenous group. There are a variety of churches that are loosely labelled Charismatic. We have relationships with some of the groupings, for instance the National Association of Charismatic & Christian Churches, that was also founded by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, who was also its first Chairman.
No, it is not misleading. First, this is a truly national body of clergy and their denominations, which are spread across the country.
Secondly, charismatics are not necessarily of one group, and there are other such groupings. The Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference is a grouping of eminent clergy, and not just some churches, which are truly present across the country, with church buildings, offices, and religious and social operations across the country.

In Ghana, the Bishops of the Ghana Charismatic Bishop’s Conference have churches in all 16 regions of the country. Many of the Bishops have churches around the world, where significant numbers of the Ghanaian diaspora attend.
